The Compelling Preaching Initiative a national initiative funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. to support organizations that want to help Christian pastors strengthen their abilities to proclaim the gospel in more engaging and effective ways. The ultimate aim of the initiative is to foster and support preaching that better inspires, encourages and guides people to come to know and love God and to live out their Christian faith more fully.

Pause/Play will become a vital hub for Saint Paul School of Theology to continue to support the work of former students and clergy within the Heartland as we reignite the creativity of weary preachers and connect peers through cohorts and conferences. Saint Paul is committed to "the creation of community in the challenges of emergent contemporary contexts," and sees Pause/Play as a necessary partner in this work, especially for former students and working preachers in rural America.
